NEWS: A Huge Success: Community Forum on Volunteerism Brings Town, Village, and Schools Together
The Town of Coeymans is proud to share the incredible success of last night’s Community Forum on Volunteerism, where residents, students, parents, and local leaders came together to discuss how we can all work together to strengthen our community.
A special thank you to Dr. Brian Bailey, Superintendent of the RCS Central School District, for his leadership and vision in organizing this forum. His commitment to fostering collaboration between the Town of Coeymans, the Village of Ravena, and the RCS School District was truly inspiring.
We were honored to host an incredible panel of lifelong volunteers, who shared their experiences, insights, and passion for service:
• Michele Puleo O’Hare – Volunteer with Lions Clubs International and St. Catherine’s Center for Children, whose dedication to service has impacted countless lives.
• Tyler Rivers – An RCS graduate and Resolution Writer for the NY State Legislative Bill Drafting Commission, who also volunteers with STARS, an intergenerational school program that connects students with older generations.
• Marshall Lefebvre – Stewardship Director of the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy, who works tirelessly to preserve and protect the natural beauty of our region.
We were thrilled to see such a strong turnout from community members, including parents, students, and dedicated volunteers, as well as representatives from both Village and Town government. The conversations were engaging, ideas were shared, and a real sense of excitement about the future of volunteer efforts in our town was in the air.
Volunteerism is the backbone of any thriving community, and last night’s forum proved just how committed the people of Coeymans and Ravena are to working together to support local projects, initiatives, and community services. The energy and enthusiasm in the room were undeniable, and we are excited to see where this momentum will take us.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend, listen, and contribute. Your passion and dedication are what make this community so special. Let’s keep working together to make Coeymans the best it can be!
Stay tuned for updates on next steps and opportunities to get involved!
