The
Ravena Hose Company was incorporated in 1898. The objectives of this
organization then and are still in their constitution as:
to man fire apparatus, to provide fire protection and allied services to
our community.
In
1898, Ravena Hose Company provided the personnel to pull the local fire
hose cart and man the bucket brigade. Ravena Hose Company provides to
the Ravena Fire Department, personnel to man five pieces of fire
apparatus equipped with sophisticated fire-fighting equipment. As the
need for traffic control at a fire scene became apparent, the Ravena
Hose Fire Police was formed. When the need for emergency medical first
aid and transportation became critical, the Ravena Hose Company Rescue
Squad was formed.
To
maintain excellence in all our services we must have many dedicated
members. Since all of the members are volunteers, the only payment they
can expect is pride in their organization. New volunteers are always
welcome and may inquire at the Ravena Firehouse, 756-2089. The firehouse
is located at 116 Main Street and the Rescue Squad is located on Bruno
Boulevard.
